Trail: Pistol Creek Trail Head (Snow Shoe Summit) Elevation: 7997’
Directions: Landmark ID and Mud Lake- Take FS Road 447 (aka Burntlog rd) and the sign that points to Mud Lake and the Landmark Landing Strip; after that stay left at Sand Creek Road and continue on 2 miles until you pass Mud Lake. The turnoff is just past mud lake. There is a parking area next to the turnoff to Artillery Dome Road (447E). It is signed and not hard to find. The Artillery Dome Road is steep and requires low range & most likely 4WD. It is approximately 3.7 miles to top & another .5 to Snow Shoe Summit where the best parking area is.
The Trail goes down Pistol Creek dropping gradually and then steeper before hitting the creek bottom and then running mostly in the creek bottom. It is ~ 8 miles down to 44 creek and 44 Cabin. The trail continues on down to the Middle Fork Salmon River ~ 21 miles

Driving time 4 hours.
Road Conditions: Paved Hwy 55 to Cascade and paved Warm Lake Hwy to Landmark then dirt FS road to Artillery Dome Road then Primitive dirt road with water bars.
